Get involved !

Interested in becoming a leader?

We open applications for new leaders at the end of every semester, so look out for more information then. If you’re curious about what it means to join us as a leader, feel free to reach out, or chat with any BOC leader on a trip

Interested in coming on trips?

Join our mailing list to receive weekly updates about trip offerings, events, and other activities. We are working to plan trips out farther in advance, so students with busy schedules can plan ahead and have the opportunity to make time for our trips. While some of our trips have a limited roster and we have to use a lottery system to select participants, many of our trips are open to any student, such as local hikes, winter ice skating trips, and trail runs.

This semester, we will also host more on-campus events, which are a great way to get involved if off-campus adventures don’t fit with your schedule, or you’re still learning to be comfortable in the outdoors. We are planning to host outdoors-related movie screenings, and hope to bring some speakers to campus to talk about their experiences with nature.

We also are working to plan some open workshops, focused on technical skills such as how to set up and use the camp stoves our gear room provides, how to pack a hiking backpack, and how to properly bear bag, as well as diversity and inclusion related workshops about race, gender, and class in the outdoors. Keep an eye out on our mailing list, instagram, and this website for more information throughout the semester!
